Welcome to the Laboratory for the Study of Complex Human Activity and Participation!

Department of Occupational Therapy, the faculty of Social Welfare & Health Sciences, University of Haifa.

Children, adolescents, and adults participate and engage in a variety of environments, including at home, in educational environments, at work, and in leisure and social settings.

Participation involves a variety of behaviors, some simple and automatic, and others more complex, requiring thought and investment of physical and emotional energy. Each of these performance characteristics has an impact on health and quality of life.  Across the life, span people deal with various life situations, including learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and various diseases, associated with additional challenges to daily activities and participation.

Studies conducted in this laboratory have developed diagnostic and evaluation tools to identify the barriers and strengths of daily functioning. Following the focus on functional characteristics and needs, treatment methods are developed to promote effective functioning, success, health, and quality of life.
